In our Eye Examination service we thoroughly check your symptoms and health details. We take an accurate vision refraction reading using automated machinery and optometry refinement. We also run a binocular vision assessment to test the coherence between your eyes, a thorough external and internal eye examination using state of the art equipment, cameras and finally a review of the findings which an Optometrist will go through with you. The Optometrist will advise you, our patient on the best management, treatment and review of your eyes based on the results of all the tests. We will take a measurement of any previous glasses to compare to the current findings. Furthermore, they may require further testing or referral to the appropriate specialist if our Doctors find something that needs more investigation or treatment.
There are various health conditions that require more regular reviews and specific examinations, including various healthy conditions, e.g. Diabetes patients or patients with certain medications, patients with eye results showing us there are problems with cataracts, glaucoma, etc. The optometrist will arrange a suitable review schedule and send reminder letters for you too. In addition we do various specified eye exams including Vic Roads testing, Taxi Forms and School screening forms.
When you opt for Bulk-billing at an optometrist, the Australian government will pay for your eye test. This is possible because of the Medicare Safety Net, which allows people with a valid Medicare card to receive a range of health services and products free of charge or at a reduced cost. In this safety net, Medicare (Australia’s government-run healthcare scheme) covers a comprehensive eye examination. This allows us to provide bulk billing eye examinations to our valued customers.
Our practice focuses heavily on low-income earners, those aged in their 60s and over, students and working professionals. We believe everyone deserves great vision – this is why we bulk bill. Contact us today or call us on (03) 9309 6464 to book your appointment.
