Can eye tests be bulk-billed in Australia?

At Clear Vision Optical we Bulk bill all patients of all ages. This applies for citizens as well as Permanenet residents with Medicare cards.

How much are Eye tests if I do not have a Medicare card?

Eye tests usually cost between $40 to $80 if you do not have a valid Medicare card. Sometimes this charge can be waved or reduced if a purchase is made in store.

What conditions can be detected at an Optometrist visit?

At Clear Vision Optical we have expert Optometrists equipped with the very best available equipment. This means we are able to detect many eye conditions such as Glaucoma, Macular Degeneration, Diabetic Eye Disease and more, before they even cause any vision loss. Detecting them early allows early intervention and better prognosis.

Do I need an eye examination before my driving test?

Usually Vic Roads will perform a basic vision exam and if there are any concerns they may ask you to go to an Optometrist for an eye examination. We can perform these tests and fill in the forms required to allow you to get/ renew your license..

Does Medicare cover the cost of glasses?

Medicare does not cover the costs of Glasses or Contact lenses. We do however offer various discount to Health care card/ concession card holders.

How many eye tests does Medicare cover?

At Clear Vision Optical all our eye examination, except for a few speciality services, are covered by Medicare, no matter how many visits are required.
